We shot Vindhya's Sweet 16 at the sterling catering hall in Bethpage NY. Here are some highlight images from the event. The event mostly consisted of classic portraiture and some photojournalism. Some of the highlights were, a traditional Indian dance which she performed with her sister and 2 friends, Candle lighting ceremony, cake cutting and lots of dancing.
This wedding highlight film was shot in January at the couples home is Staten Island, Bayonne park in New Jersey and Grand Oaks Country Club. For a January wedding we got pretty lucky with weather, while being very cold, it could have been much worse. The day was a little sunny so got some great warmer shots for the portrait part of the shoot at Bayonne park.
This is the highlight film we shot for Anyur and Baset wedding In July. The day started with prep at the Park Lane Hotel on 59th street. We then moved on to Central Park starting our shoot at 5th avenue entrance and making our way to Loeb boathouse stopping at some of my favorite places to shoot. Like the underpass by the carousel, The Mall, Bow Bridge, Bethesda Terrace and Fountain. We then moved on to the venue, Baku restaurant in Brooklyn Sheepshead bay area. This is a Azerbaijani restaurant / Cabaret but caters to a Lot of eastern European, people most of Russian / Ukrainian background. The bride was From Azerbaijan, the groom from Egypt they decided to have the wedding in NY because of large amount of family and friends the bride had here, but both recide in Nebraska where the groom is a professor of engineering. Like with most of my films I like the day to be a journey, with a slow buildup powerful bridge and emotional closing.

Amazing Bar Mitzvah at Skazka restaurant in Brooklyn, The family closed down the whole 2nd floor of the venue for this 200 person event. The party consisted of the reading ceremony, candle lighting, amazing grand entrance, games, Photo Booth, amazing vibe created by Aldo Ryan Entertainment, lots of dancing including mother son first dance and some of the most splendid banquets of food ever. The event was filled with lots of joy and laughter a real celebration of this very special young mans coming of age. We concentrated on a lot of classic portraiture as is typical at Russian events, but also got a lot of photojournalistic images per clients request moms request. Greg is a past client who we have done family sessions for and covered photo and video at his daughters amazing fist birthday party at onegin restaurant. He needed some new headshots for his dentist business and reached out, he was not interested in standard white background photos, he wanted a classic portrait in a lively outdoors environment. We settled on Dumbo area of Brooklyn for the session. With its great variety of places and scenes to shoot it was a perfect location. we got couple of images at the 1 hotel and surrounding areas, the image backgrounds go from architecture, to office feel, to nature, and some more grittier images outside that look almost like actors headshots. I do a lot of these types of session for guys looking for better dating site pictures, but doing it for corporate work turns out pretty great, I wish more of my corporate and business headshot clients considered outdoor shoots.
